Duke is the 13th grade |
I was just saying that, I don't really care since I am resigned to the fact that unless David Robinson's son goes the Annapolis, we probably won't compete in the Big Dance again anytime soon.
Go Navy, Beat Army!!

Ha!
FYI, Mando, my wife works at the Naval Postgrad School here in Monterey. Don't know if you ever been, but a very nice set up here for you guys (and gals).
Duke Football - ACC Champs 2011! (Still have my bumpersticker on car that says same for 2010 - will have to get out the sharpie and cross it out ... again...and again...)

Re: Duke is the 13th grade |
It might be wide open this year with Tyrod Taylor done and Ryan Williams and Darin Evans going pro. Clemson maybe?
I had orders to NPS back in '87 but changed them and went to upstate New York as an instructor at one of the nuclear prototype training facilities.
Monterey vs. Saratoga Springs? I am an idiot. At least I saw the Dead at SPAC while I was there. Would rather have studied, watched whales and gone to garlic festivals in Gilroy.

Re: Duke is the 13th grade |
The Duke lacrosse team is doing GREAT - they won the National Championship last year. However, the DA that mishandled the case in a rush to judgment has been disbarred and his UNC Law Degree is not doing him much use these days...
That said, I wouldn't expect someone that pulls for the institution that gave the world of journalism Bob Novak and Jayson Blair to recall that detail.
BTW, I joined in with many alumni, like Jay Bilas, that called for Broadhead's resignation as President for the way he mishandled the matter and the rush to judgment.

Funny stuff, but I once saw Marines play lacrosse at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC with nothing but shirts and shoes. They were a bloody mess.

Re: Duke is the 13th grade |
Since you are a Tarheel, I can understand throwing the rotten tomatoes and whatever other garbage you can at the Dookies.
That example however, maybe is a bit out of bounds?
Would you say that if the majority of the lacrosse team was black? Certainly race blinded some key players, such as President Brodhead, and needlessly destroyed a team, a coach and damaged many young men and their families. Being wealthy and white is reason enough I guess for the multicultural-politically correct crowd. That's funny that I used the word reason in that last sentence.
